Cannot use Entity Framework in .NET standard 2 project

.net-standard-2.0 c# entity-framework entity-framework-6

Question

How can I include Entity Framework—or a comparable tool—into a.NET Standard project?

It is quite frustrating because it seems like EF is not supported in.NET Standard 2!

So I gave Microsoft a go. Microsoft and EntityFrameworkCore.SqlServer. EntityFrameworkCore.SqlServer.Design

Although I can install these programmes, I am unable to add a model thereafter.

I get the error

---------------------------
Microsoft Visual Studio
---------------------------
The project's target framework does not contain Entity Framework runtime assemblies. Please review the target framework information in the project's property page.
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

How am I supposed to avoid this?

I'm really considering removing.NET Standard from all of my applications, although that might be a little extreme.

Paul
